How do I Fight?
To start off, it might be helpful if you take a look at the STATS and DICE ROLLING statistic. That, after all, is 90% of hunting and, of course, Fighting.
The first thing you need to keep in mind is this; patience is a virtue. Stay within a certain posting order when fighting, allowing everyone in the fight to respond. And NO double posting.
So a fight between two cats may look like this:
Post 1: Dustfire attacks Mistwind
Post 2: Mistwind turns and blocks/defends herself and then attacks Dustfire....
And so on!
Second thing to keep in mind; your dice roll represents the order of things that happen in your post. IF Dustfire attacks Mistwind and then tries to evade her upcoming strike, then the first dice roll's total is the attack amount and the second is the evasion count. Please, if you would like to keep all our sanity in check, then by all means label them to make things less confusing.
Be aware that you can only make three dice rolls per post when fighting. It makes sense to say that you can attack once, block once, and try to evade or run away once. If you natural stat is going to block/evade anything your attacker throws at you, then by all means - save the roll!
To reiterate: You CANNOT roll two separate attacks on the same cat in one post.
Please keep in mind; everything in the battle must make sense. Writing is important, and even if you could make 3-4 strikes per post, this does not mean you can go zooming about a battlefield like the Flash, or smash every opponent without so much as a scratch like the hulk. This means that if you are fighting with someone and then in the same paragraph leap into the defense of your kits, you'll get a warning and likely your post will be ignored. You cannot attack a cat unless you state you have gotten close to them, and if you are pinned by one opponent - you must free yourself in some fashion before making an attack somewhere else. Because of this, your cat may be limited into only 1 or two moves per post - before the fight really gets going.
In the event of a tie, the dice roll goes to the responder, not the roller. If they can dodge, then they will dodge.
Lastly, be creative! And don't forget that killing on GROW does not require permission. Death occurs when HP drops to -5HP. 0HP equals unconsciousness, and if you are knocked out, you will wake up with 1HP if you are safe. So long as your enemy doesn't choose to take advantage of your sorry state.
